There are many reasons, but mainly it boils down to
1) being busy with other things (blog has not been a priority)
2) the nature of a blog in my mind
Point 1 will likely be the subject of an upcoming update post, so I'll leave it for then.
Point 2 here is vaguely worded because it needs a longer explanation. Most of the posts I've made have been about things that are important to me and things that I know will interest others. I have tons of ideas all the time that I'd love to write about, and get feedback from interested friends. But many of them seem trivial a few hours after I get the idea, or its so random I don't want to put it next to more "serious" posts, which could make people think I've gone off the deep end.
All this is ending, today. For the next week, I will make one post a day to rejuvenate this old hound, and after that I'll commit to at least one new post per week, hopefully more.
There are several reasons for this change of attitude. One is that over the last year, I've had a lot of great experiences, and I've realized that a blog is a great way to keep in touch with friends without imposing yourself on them. I want to take advantage of that. Also, in some way its a type of diary- I wish I'd been better about posting so that I could look back and have a clearer sense of my frame of mind, what I've been doing, how I viewed the world/Hanoi, etc. Finally, writing on a blog a good way to practice focused writing and remain critically engaged.
OK, enough blog apologia, but I just wanted to let you know whats up.
